Glendale, Ohio

The small quaint village of Glendale is located along one of the busiest sections of double track in the area. Viewing can be done from public lots with a police station nearby, so safety is not at a premium here, unlike some other train hot-spots in the Greater Cincinnati area. The former CH&D railroad staion is home to the Glendale Heritage Preservation Museum, open to visitors every Thursday and Sunday from 11-3pm. The museum houses many artifacts of Glendale railroad history. << more information >>

The double track is CSX trackage, but Norfolk Soutern and CSX have a directional running agreement and the majority of traffic is northbound here, with southbound traffic on the Norfolk Soutern tracks several miles to the east. The directional running agreement means the action is fast and furious with a mix of CSX, NS, and even I&O trains passing through this historic village.

Several eatery options are nearby, with a small produce market and pastry shop available for quick track side snacks. Other food options are a few miles away on 747 as well as other extensive shopping venues.
